Ranchi’s smart city in fast forward mode
Ranchi will be the first green field smart city of the nation, said Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at the venue of the Ranchi smart city. Ranchi is the first city out of 90 selected under smart city scheme to do bhoomi poojan for construction of smart city.
Ranchi completed all the parameters of smart city required for selection, added Naidu. He appealed to all citizens to take up their responsibilities and work towards making this smart city happen.He also laid the foundation stone of Urban Civic Tower, Convention Center and Jharkhand Urban Planning and Management Institute.
Ranchi smart city will receive Rs 500 crore from the centre and the state for its construction. Naidu said that Jharkhand with its 40 per cent mineral of the nation is led by a visionary CM. He also went on to add to pace up with the world, there is a need have to change and think positively. Former urban development and housing and urban poverty alleviation minister added smart city will work as a lighthouse of the state and guide people towards itself. It will be a city with better health services, education and basic infrastructure.
He expressed his contentment over decreasing violence in Jharkhand. He appealed human right activists to raise their voice on the killing of police personnel also and added that violence will not be tolerated. Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the smart city in Ranchi will be imitated by other cities. In just 1,000 days of his government, smart city has been started and hopefully it will be completed in time. The government is focusing rural areas as well. Jharkhand is working on the scheme on house for everyone by 2022, one of the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He thanked HEC officials for their cooperation.The state government has provided Rs 773 crore to HEC so that the company can pay dues of the workers and employees. The smart city will be made in stipulated time and it will be the first smart city of the nation.
