Raj Thackeray asks schools to focus on safety of kids
After the Ryan school incident where a child was brutally murdered, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has asked all principals and trustees of private and government schools to take vigilant measures to prevent anything that harms the safety of children.
In his letter, Raj stated that he is writing the letter to them in an extremely resentful and angry state of mind as he has marked an increase in incidences of molestation of students. “These incidences somewhere reflect the careless attitude of the school administration and the government both, towards the safety of the students,” he stated.
He added, “Parents leave their children in your schools for a significant amount of time only because of the underlying trust they have in your institutions. They believe that the teaching and non-teaching staff and all the agencies involved will take due care of their children. However, because of the grave incidences that have occurred in past few months, the trust of the parents in the system has been shattered.”
“As a parent, I expect everyone to feel the same and treat all children in the same manner. Though there are challenges, that does not excuse you from taking the necessary measures and precaustions. Hence, I ask you to consider children’s safety as the topmost priority,” Raj appealed.
