Cops told to complete probe in suicides of farmers in a month
MUMBAI: The Home department has issued directives to all police stations to complete the investigations into suicides of farmers. The circular dated September 16, states that at least an officer in a Police Inspector rank should probe these suicide cases. The reports should be submitted within a month to ensure that close relatives of the farmer can avail the financial assistance from the state government. Kishor Tiwari, chief of Vasantrao Naik Shetakari Swawlamban Mission said that he has recommended these issues to the state. -Staff Reporter
