RailTel’s gross revenue crosses Rs 900 crore

RailTel recorded 40% growth over last year achieving Rs 903 crore gross revenue in FY 2016-17. The 17th Annual General Meeting of RailTel Corporatio­n of India was held at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi on September 22, 2017. On this occasion, R. K. Bahuguna, CMD of RailTel addressed the stakeholde­rs and apprised them of the latest developmen­ts and future plans of the company. The past financial year has been remarkable for RailTel as the company has touched new heights. RailTel has achieved ever high turnover of Rs 903 crore and posted a Profit before Tax amounting to Rs 194 crore and net profit of Rs 130 crore during 2016-17on consolidat­ed basis.

Total dividend playout for the FY 2016-17 would be Rs 51.53 crore (including interim dividend of Rs 18 crores) which is 40% of Profit after Tax (PAT) as approved by the shareholde­rs in the AGM. RailTel has received excellent rating in the 4-consecutiv­e years and the same is expected for FY 2016-17 as well.

The past year has been remarkable for RailTel as the company has proved itself to be a key contributo­r in changing telecom and ICT scenario of India. RailTel is an integral part of Digital India Mission which envisages creating a Digital society for inclusive growth. RailTel is currently executing and planning to execute many projects which are going to change the digital map of the nation.
