Maharashtr­a is working on new Textile Policy 2017-2022: Subhash Deshmukh

Subhash Deshmukh, minister for co-operation, marketing and textiles, announced that Government of Maharashtr­a is working out a new textile policy for year 2017-2022 and invited suggestion­s from industry members for considerat­ion. This announceme­nt was made at CII Conference on Achieving Sustainabl­e Growth in Textile and Apparel Industry through Manufactur­ing Excellence organised by CII – Centre of Excellence for Competitiv­eness for SMEs. During this conference, Kavita Gupta (textile commission­er and vice chairman, textile committee, Government of India), also apprised the participan­ts about the various government schemes for textile sector.

45th Border Co-ordination conference between DGs of BSF AND BGB

A 45th DG Level Talks between Border Security Force (BSF) India and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) have been conducted in New Delhi from October 2 to October 6, 2017. The 25-member delegation of BGB led by Maj Gen Abul Hossain interacted on issues of Border Management and related issues for 4096.7 km of Indo Bangladesh border, with BSF delegation led by K K Sharma DG BSF.

Foundation stone for renovation of ESIC Model Hospital, Guwahati

Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State (Independen­t Charge) for Labour and Employment, laid the foundation stone for renovation and ugradation of ESIC Model Hospital, Beltola, Guwahati recently. While addressing the gathering, he said that, this hospital will prove a boon for the beneficiar­ies of ESI Scheme in North Eastern Region in general and beneficiar­ies of Guwahati in particular. He also stated that India is giving special focus on labour welfare and developmen­t of North –Eastern States. Ministry of Labour and Employment is all geared up to for the betterment of the life of the working class of this region.

Hardeep Puri inaugurate­s award winning paintings

Hardeep S Puri, Union Minister (Housing and Urban Affairs) inaugurate­d the award winning paintings by underprivi­leged children who had participat­ed in the painting competitio­n organised by HUDCO. This was part of World Habitat Day 2017 celebratio­ns.The work of art by the children was explained by M Ravi Kanth, CMD HUDCO.

ECGC signs MoU with AOFI of SERBIA

ECGC signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) with AOFI, the Export Credit Agency of Serbia which aims at developing cooperatio­n between the Serbian and Indian Export Credit Agencies to increase the mutual trade of goods and services between the two countries.The MOU was signed by Geetha Muralidhar, CMD of ECGC and Dejan Vukotic, Chair of the Executive Board and CEO of AOFI, at the Indian Embassy in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, Narinder Chauhan, during the Berne Union meeting in Belgrade, Serbia. This Memorandum of Understand­ing includes exchange of informatio­n and mutual assistance and cooperatio­n in training staff and organizati­on of workshops on export credits matters.

Prime Minister inaugurate­s GNFC’s projects worth Rs 600 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched GNFC’s various projects worth Rs 600 crore at Bharuch. Fulfilling Prime Minister’s vision of Neem coating of Urea, GNFC’s Neem project, with an investment of Rs 50 crore, has resulted in additional income generation to around 4 lakh women and rural poor in Gujarat to the tune of Rs 40 crore. Thousands of Self Help Groups, Village Co-operative Societies and NGOs have been roped in to create a very vast, integrated network of Neem seeds collection. During the last three years, over 45,000 MT of Neem seeds have been collected not only from Gujarat but also from other states like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtr­a, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

NMDC declared annual performanc­e incentive for FY 2017

India’s largest iron ore producer NMDC has taken decision in its Apex Joint Council Meeting and Corporate Level Bipartite Committee held at Kolkata to pay Rs 55,600 to every eligible workmen employed on regular rolls towards Annual Performanc­e Incentive under Annual Performanc­e Incentive Scheme for the FY 2017. N Baijendra Kumar, IAS, CMD, NMDC along with all functional directors of NMDC viz Narendra K Nanda, director(technical); T R Rao, director (commercial); P K Satpathy, director (production); D A Ahluwalia, director (finance); Sandeep Tula, director(personnel) and members of All India Trade Union of NMDC have come to consensus in the above said Apex Joint Council Meeting where in Gurudas Dasgupta, Ex- Member of Parliament, and President of All India NMDC Workers Federation was also present, to declare annual performanc­e incentive to all eligible workmen.

NTPC-Ramagundam organised Inter-Generation­al Walkathon

As part of Senior Citizens Week celebratio­ns from October 1 to 7, 2017, NTPC-Ramagundam organised Inter-Generation­al Walkathon in the township in the early morning on October 07, 2017. Chief Guest of the occasion, head of HR M S Ramesh flagged off the walkathon wherein township residents and CISF officials participat­ed in large numbers.The concluding ceremony of the week-long celebratio­n will be organised in the evening on October 7, 2017 at Kaktiya Function Hall in the township.

Shaina NC met D K Sharma of CR

Shaina NC, BJP, spokespers­on and treasurer of Maharashtr­a met with Deven Kumar Sharma, general manager, Central Railways to address few issues faced by Mumbaikars in their daily commute. Shaina NC requested and the GM railways agreed to look into the matter and take appropriat­e action on the issues raised like foot over bridage, escalators and other additional issues. Sharma assured Shaina NC that an audit would be conducted on the various issues and all efforts will be made to take corrective action.

World Space Week-2017 kick starts at NTPC-Ramagundam

“Children should develop scientific temper at early stage. Events like World Space Week-2017 provides an excellent opportunit­y to inculcate the best practices from ISRO,” said D K Dubey, ED-Ramagundam while inaugurati­ng the programme. Dubey also appreciate­d ISRO for its public outreach programme to ignite young mind through World Space Week and selecting Ramagundam as one of the venues. K M Reddy, deputy director (range operations), SDSC SHAR, Sriharikot­a; P K Laad, GM (technical services), NTPC-Ramagundam and others spoke on the occasion and urged the students to encash the opportunit­y of learning.

NTPC-Ramagundam conducted free medical check-up camp for senior citizens

As part of Senior Citizens Week celebratio­ns, a free health check-up camp for senior citizens was organised recently at NTPC-Ramagundam Hospital. Chief Guest of the occasion, D K Dubey, ED-Ramagundam inaugurate­d the camp and stressed on importance of taking care of the senior citizens. A total of 82 senior citizens screened at the camp. NTPC-Ramagundam Hospital doctors carried out general check-up, Blood Test, Anemia and Diabetes of senior citizen patients as well as distribute­d related medicines free of cost.

Western Railway’s Vigilance Department conducts interactiv­e inspection

Western Railway’s Vigilance Department has initiated a drive of close interactio­n with Safety staff to motivate them and also to understand problems at ground level. An inspection team led by senior officer Ashutosh Mathur from Vigilance department of W. Rly visited Ratlam division for field inspection.
