Casting coup for KJo
Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan confirmed for Brahmastra
It looks like its announcement time at Dharma productions. After announcing an ambitious collaboration with Akshay Kumar on ‘Kesari’, filmmaker Karan Johar has finally revealed the entire cast for his prodigy Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy-adventure trilogy titled ‘Brahmastra’.
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead, the film will also star Amitabh Bachchan. Earlier, the film, which was rumoured to be titled Dragon, will be one of Bollywood’s rare trilogies, the first of which will hit the screens next year.
After teasing an announcement, Karan tweeted the news. “A trilogy ...a fantasy adventure .... a labour of love ..... ”Brahmastra’, he posted.
Adding to her mentor Karan Johar’s post, Alia Bhatt tweeted: “Can't wait for this one! #BRAHMSTRA”.
In an earlier interview, Ayan had spoken about the film and said, “There is a lot of action in the film, so there is a lot of training, like gymnastics kind of training, horse-riding, fighting and lot of physical stuff that Ranbir will have to do. And then there is internal work, like to get the spirit of the character right. Ranbir has to observe the flavour of the film and communicate it with the audience. We are trying to imagine things, this (fantasy) world, and work accordingly.”
He also added, “In its core, it has romance as an element but it has got a new flavour to it. With every film, I am trying to evolve and grow.”
