AIMIM leader Waris Pathan detained by Byculla police

MUMBAI: Byculla MLA Waris Pathan was detained by the police on Thursday for protesting at Reay Road station to press for an FIR against railway officials in connection with the Elphinstone railway stampede incident which saw 23 people die. Pathan, who was at the forefront of the ‘Halla Bol’ morcha, was detained at Byculla police station along with the other All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party workers for allegedly raising slogans against Railway minister Piyush Goyal and the government.
