Pepsico set to double sales of Aquafina in next 5 years

Pepsico India is aiming to double sales of its bottled mineral water brand Aquafina in next five years on account of value-based growth. The company would keep on adding value-added new products under its Rs 1,000 crore Aquafina brand.

"If you take the brand growth, Aquafina should double in the next five years (in terms of value)," PepsiCo India Senior VP Beverage Category Vipul Prakash told PTI. He further added, "The hydration industry is growing by 10 per cent and my mandate is that Aquafina should grow faster." As part of that, PepsiCo India today forayed into the vitamin fortified water category by launching Aquafina Vitamin Splash.

Aquafina Vitamin Splash will be available in Kiwi Lime and Raspberry Mint flavours at Rs 30 and Rs 50 for 300 ml and 500 ml respective­ly. "In the first phase, it would be available in top 20-25 cities," he said adding that depending on the market response, the company would decide to expand it to other cities in next six months.

Aquafina Vitamin Splash is the lowest calorie vitamin fortified water to be introduced in India. "This launch reiterates PepsiCo India's commitment to introducin­g new beverage products, only if they contain 100 calories or fewer from added sugar per serve (355ml), in line with PepsiCo's global Performanc­e with Purpose agenda," the company said in the statement. NEW DELHI: Asian Paints reported a 7.54 per cent increase in consolidat­ed net profit to Rs 526.19 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.The company had posted a net profit of Rs 489.26 crore for the same period of previous fiscal, reports PTI. Revenue from operations of the company stood at Rs 4,274.18 crore for the second quarter compared to Rs 4,178.61 crore in the same period last fiscal, it said in a regulatory filing. Asian Paints said consequent to implementa­tion of GST (Goods and Services Tax), taxes such as excise duties, VAT have been subsumed in GST. "In accordance with Indian Accounting Standards- 18 on Revenue and Schedule III of the Companies Act, 2013, unlike excise duties, levies like GST, VAT are not part of revenue. Accordingl­y, for operations in India the figures for the period up to June 30, 2017 are not strictly relatable to those thereafter," it added. NEW DELHI: JK Agri Genetics reported a standalone net loss of Rs 9.23 crore in the quarter ended September 30, on sharp fall in revenue, reports PTI.The company had posted a loss of Rs 7.37 crore in the same quarter of 2016-17 fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing. Net revenue declined sharply to Rs 6.75 crore in JulySeptem­ber of 2017-18 fiscal from Rs 13.50 crore in the year- ago period. Expenses, however, remained slightly lower at Rs 21.17 crore as against Rs 25.14 crore in the said period. NEW DELHI: Kitchen appliances firm TTK Prestige has reported 11.23 per cent increase in consolidat­ed net profit at Rs 43.28 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, reports PTI. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 38.91 crore in July-September period of the previous fiscal. Its total income went up by 8.87 per cent at Rs 547.37 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 502.73 crore last year. KOLKATA: Phillips Carbon Black Ltd posted a four-fold jump in net profit to Rs 50.78 crore in the quarter ended September from Rs 12.49 crore in the correspond­ing period a year ago. Net sales of the carbon black major rose 17 per cent year-on-year to Rs 597.58 crore in the quarter NEW DELHI: Liquor firm Radico Khaitan reported a 27.11 per cent rise in standalone net profit to Rs 28.6 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, reports PTI. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 22.5 crore for the same period of previous fiscal.Total income of the company grew by 23.23 per cent to Rs 1,496 crore for the second quarter compared to Rs 1,213.93 crore for the correspond­ing period last fiscal, it said in a regulatory filing. NEW DELHI: Chambal Fertiliser­s and Chemicals Ltd reported 11 per cent increase in its standalone net profit at Rs 141.24 crore for the quarter ended September on lower expenses. Its net profit stood at Rs 127.11 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a BSE filing, reports PTI. Total income, however, fell to Rs 2,148.84 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal from Rs 2,194.08 crore in the correspond­ing period of the previous year.The total expenditur­e fell to Rs 1,931.16 crore during July-September quarter from Rs 2,021.27 crore in the year-ago period. NEW DELHI: Zee Entertainm­ent Enterprise­s Ltd (ZEEL) reported over two-fold jump in consolidat­ed net profit at Rs 590.80 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016. The company had registered a consolidat­ed net profit of Rs 238.40 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, ZEEL said in a filing with the BSE, reports PTI. ZEEL's total income on consolidat­ed basis was up 2.67 per cent to Rs 1,785.18 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 1,738.67 crore of the correspond­ing quarter last fiscal.The company has reported other income of Rs 203.13 crore during the quarter as against Rs 43.23 crore. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is conducting an eight weeks Internatio­nal Training Programme on standardis­ation and quality assurance at National Institute of Training for Standardiz­ation (NITS), which is the training arm of BIS. About 35 participan­ts from 23 developing nations are being trained in the field of various aspects of standardis­ation and quality assurance through class room training and industrial visits.
