WHAT: Mumbai-based renowned artist Vishnu Sonavane will display his recent work in an exhibition titled ‘Floating Forms’. The purpose of a painting usually projects the painter’s psyche, his hopes and desires as well as his imaginatio­n. Therefore, if one uses this gift of nature in an appropriat­e way then it should be considered as a best means for a painter. And Vishnu has expertly used this in every respect in his paintings. On observing Vishnu’s paintings we primarily observe leaves, trees, flowers, flowers, birds, human figures. Several images are painted on a smooth surface and implied in the mythologic­al subject line. Mahabharat­a, Ramayana, Yoga and likes are distinctly depicted in his works. Basically, our father loved painting and he also composed excellent poems. Due to his love for art he always inspired us. We had a freedom of expression and this benefited us while painting. Undaunted expression and enthusiasm was imbibed in us. So, as painters our motto was to make every observe like the painting.The present series of paintings would undoubtedl­y mesmerize us and make us linger in an imaginativ­e world. Sketch is a soul of painting and Vishnu has attempted to present it in a very pleasant manner.
