Uchil United, Bombay Fort score contrasting victories

Uchil United SC and Bombay Fort SC scored contrasting win in the first round matches of the 11th Late Adv. A. R. Kudrolli Memorial Knockout Football Tournament 2017, organised by the Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.

Combining well as a team, Uchil United overcame Karanatak Amateurs SC 3-2 in a keenly contested encounter. Strikers Sahil Anchan, Surendra Belchada and Joshua D’Souza scored a goal each for Uchil United, while Abhay Amin netted both goals for Karnatak Amateurs.

Meanwhile, Bombay Fort had things their own way defeating Union Sports Club 4-0 with Pranav Shetty leading their charge with two goals, while Prasana Shetty and Nikhil Shetty added one each to complete the winning tally.

In another match, Jai Bharat SC got the better of Mangalore Blues SC 7-6 via the sudden death penalty shootout after full time ended in a 1-all draw. Results (round 1): Bombay Fort SC 4 (Pranav Shetty 2, Prasana Shetty, Nikhil Shetty) beat Union Sports Club 0.

Uchil United 3 (Sahil Anchan, Surendra Belchada, Joshua D’Souza) beat Karnatak Amateurs SC 2 (Abhay Amin 2).

Jai Bharat 7 (Rashid Shaikh 2, Dipak Vijapur, Roshan Uchil, Dinesh Kamath, Hitesh Bangera, Sachin Poojary) beat Mangalore Blues 6 (Aaron Machado, Rishil Shetty, Aditya Shetty, Lanster Fernandes, Mahesh Poojary, Rajesh Bangera) via the sudden death tie-breaker. Full time 1-1.
