Indian Bank Q2 net up 11.5% at Rs 452 crore Public sector lender Indian Bank on Monday registered a rise of 11.45 per cent in net profit at Rs 451.54 crore for the September quarter as bad loans declined although provisioni­ng to cover for such assets was raised. The bank had made a net profit of Rs 405.14 crore in the similar JulySeptem­ber quarter of 201617. Total income of the bank increased to Rs 4,874.16 crore for the quarter under review.

Piramal Enterprise­s Q2 net up 25 pc at Rs 384 cr Piramal Enterprise­s on Monday reported a 25.21 per cent rise in consolidat­ed net profit to Rs 383.60 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, mainly on account of improved operationa­l performanc­e. The company had posted a net profit after tax, share of profit (loss) of associates and joint venture of Rs 306.36 crore for the correspond­ing period of the previous fiscal, Piramal Enterprise­s said in a filing to BSE. Consolidat­ed revenue from operations also rose to Rs 2,535.86 crore for the quarter under review as against Rs 1,966.15 crore for the same period a year ago.

REC net profit at Rs 1,215 crore in Jul-Sep quarter State-owned Rural Electrific­ation Corporatio­n (REC) Monday reported 30 per cent decline in standalone net profit to Rs 1,214.66 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, mainly due to lower revenues. The company's standalone net profit was Rs 1,751.27 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2016, REC said in a BSE filing. According to the statement, total revenue of the company decreased to Rs 5,627.71 crore in the second quarter from Rs 6,108.55 crore in the same period last fiscal.

Century Textiles Q2 net up 18 pc at Rs 52.7 crore Century Textiles and Industries today reported a rise of 18.42 per cent in its net profit at Rs 52.7 crore for the September quarter on account of lower expenses. It had posted a net profit of Rs 44.5 crore in the correspond­ing period of the previous fiscal. The company's total income from operations, however, declined to Rs 1,844.57 crore, from Rs 1,997.04 crore in the year-ago period. During the quarter under review, its total expenses reduced to Rs 1,734.53 crore, from Rs 1,952.13 crore in the correspond­ing period of the last fiscal.

HUDCO's net profit at Rs 202 crore for Jul- Sept Housing and Urban Developmen­t Corporatio­n Ltd (HUDCO) Monday reported marginal decline in its net profit at Rs 202.10 crore in the quarter ended September. Its net profit stood at Rs 205.53 crore in the year ago period, the company said in a filing to the BSE. Total income, however, rose to Rs 965.75 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal from Rs 857.06 crore in the correspond­ing period of the previous year.
