BHEL profit rises 5.9 pc at Rs 115.42 cr in July-Sept State-run power equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electrical­s Ltd (BHEL) on Tuesday posted 5.9 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 115.42 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, 2017. The company's standalone net profit was Rs 109 crore in the quarter ended on September 30, 2016, the PSU said in a statement, adding that profit in JulySeptem­ber 2017-18 is the highest second quarter profit achieved in last three years. Total income in the quarter was Rs 6,782.08 crore compared to Rs 7,089.79 crore a year ago.

Cipla Q2 net profit at Rs 434.95 crore Drug major Cipla on Tuesday reported a consolidat­ed net profit of Rs 434.95 crore for the second quarter ended September. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 369.64 crore for the correspond­ing period of the previous fiscal, Cipla said in a BSE filing. Consolidat­ed total income of the company stood at Rs 4,195.74 crore for the quarter under considerat­ion. It was Rs 3,778.25 crore for the same period a year ago.

Future Retail Q2 net profit at Rs 153.16 crore Future Retail Ltd (FRL) on Tuesday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 153.16 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2017. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 73.63 crore during the JulySeptem­ber quarter a yearago. Total income during the period under review was at Rs 4,509.16 crore against Rs 4,197.93 crore during the correspond­ing quarter last fiscal, FRL said in a BSE filing.

Bayer CropScienc­e Q2 net profit up 20 pc at Rs 190 cr Bayer CropScienc­e on Tuesday posted a 19.79 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 190.6 crore for the second quarter of this fiscal on higher sales. Its net profit stood at Rs 159.1 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing. Total income increased to Rs 1,245.3 crore in the July- September period of the current fiscal from Rs 1,174.3 crore in the year-ago period. Expenses remained slightly higher at Rs 954.6 crore as against Rs 931 crore in the period under review.

Jindal SAW Q2 net profit jumps 27% to Rs 60 cr Steel pipe maker Jindal SAW today reported 27 per cent rise in standalone net profit to Rs 60.10 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2017. The firm had clocked a net profit of Rs 47.32 crore in the year-ago period, Jindal SAW said in a BSE filing. However, total standalone income of the company declined 4.8 per cent to Rs 1,372.96 crore in the said quarter from Rs 1,442.28 crore during the same quarter in 2016-17. The company is a leading global manufactur­er and supplier of iron and steel pipe products, and fittings among others.
