Governor’s thankful intervention
Close on the heels of taking over of the Guruvayur Sree Parthasarathy temple, recently which was protested vehemently by the Hindu Aikyavedi and devotees, Communist Cabinet headed by Pinarayi Vijayan approved and hastily forwarded an Ordinance to cut short the term of Travancore Dewaswom Board from three to two years, that too when there was one day left for the completion of two years of the Board chaired by Prayar Gopalakrishnan. This was done with sinister motive of ousting the incumbent Dewaswom Chair who is antagonistic to the Marxist Communists per se. By shortening the term of Dewaswom, which is unprecedented in my living memory, not only it would have ousted Prayar Gopalakrishnan indirectly but also created stalemate. It is well known that the Dewaswom Board earlier filed an affidavit taking a firm stand against women of all ages to enter Sabarimala, opposing LDF Govt stand of favouring admission to women in general. The stand of LDF is contrary to popular will. There is, therefore, apparent discomfiture for the Dewaswom Mantri Kadakampally who is also a Marxist Communist and against the present Dewaswom Board chief. It is the grace of the Governor P Sathasivam who was also the earlier Chief Justice of India to have returned the ordinance asking for the urgency and expedient reason for rushing with the ordinance which was opposed by earlier Home Minister and present leader of UDF in Assembly Ramesh Chennithala and BJP chief Kummanam. I am delighted at the outcome and feel elated at the Governor’s timely intervention. Hope better counsel prevail.
