TAKE A SOULFUL ‘JOURNEY WITHIN’
Chants for Hare Krishna reverberated throughout the auditorium, transporting everyone to the land of divine. The occasion being, launch of the book, ‘The Journey Within’ authored by Radhanath Swami, renowned spiritual leader of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
‘The Journey Within’ was launched by producer Smita Thackeray, Mrs Napual – Consul General, Mauritius, Dr Norbert Revai Bere – Consul General, Hungary and actor Nitesh Bharadwaj. Also present, among other dignitaries, was BJP State Secretary Amit Munde and athlete Kranti Salvi.
Speaking on the occasion, Radhanath Swami said, “In this book, I have shared my experiences which would enlighten the readers with spiritual thoughts and philosophy. We take long journey across the globe derive happiness, which is short-lived or may be derive no happiness, because we seldom take a ‘journey’ within which can reveal us our purpose of existence and guide us a path which can give us eternal happiness. I am sure that people would enjoy reading this book.”
Radhanath Swami, with easy-to-understand also explained the importance discovering “love that lies dormant within our heart” if we want to be instruments of change”. “Humanity has long yearned to discover the answer to our existence and many spiritual traditions have evolved to provide those answers through sacred texts that facilitate journeys of transformation and discovery. Yet, never before have all of the spiritual traditions been distilled so simply into one easy-to-follow path – a path of love and devotion,” he added.
During the launch, Dr Bere spoke of the trend of European inclination towards Asian wisdom and Indian spirituality along with their materialistic development. Smita Thackeray, highlighted the importance of inner happiness, which she said can be achieved only by helping others.
