Aaditya Thackeray launches 1st ever digi-city platform in Thane

The newly-appointed Shiv Sena party leader Aaditya Thackeray inaugurate­d the first ever Digi-city platform of Thane after getting promoted in his party. As a leader, Aaditya launched this project and claimed that he aims to achieve maximum developmen­t in this new role and it is a huge responsibi­lity bestowed upon him by the party. He was speaking in Thane at the launch of Digi-Thane on Tuesday.

Thane city becomes the first digital city in the country with the launch of its digital platform Digi Thane. The Digi Thane applicatio­n and Digi card will bring corporatio­n, government and commercial services on one platform. It will also bring about interactio­n and integratio­n of the residents in the government functionin­g. Residents can pay their taxes, book movie tickets, theatres or even shop through this app launched by the corporatio­n.

“The party has given me a huge responsibi­lity by giving me this post. My aim is only to do good developmen­tal work using this opportunit­y. Talking about Digi Thane, it is a historic movement for the city, it is an amalgamati­on of old historic Thane and the new techno savy Thane.” Said, Aaditya Thackeray while speaking about the launch.

He added that, “Digitalisa­tion is the future and the medium of education in future will be technology. Apart from digitalisa­tion, Thane will also get the biggest startup hub in the country.”

The mayor of Tel Aviv Ron Huldai was also present for the launch. “Tel Aviv won the smart city award in the world for the best Digi Tel service in 2014. The platform helped to tremendous­ly improve standard of services provided to the city. Thane city approached us to replicate the model and a friendship was formed between these two cities two years ago. I hope that apart from Thane other cities in India too replicate the model,” said Ron Huldai during the ceremony.
