BJP fears it may win less seats if State polls are to be held in 2019

The Dec survey reveals BJP could get only 86 seats, if the assembly polls are announced before its 5-year term

In a survey conducted by a professional company close to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and known for its precise predictions, has revealed the party will lose considerable number of seats if the state polls are held in 2019.

The survey conducted in December revealed, BJP could get only 86 seats, if the assembly polls are announced after the current Devendra Fadnavis government completes its five-year term. BJP right now has 122 seats, The survey also predicts, in case the polls are held this year end, BJP can gain few seats and take its total to 127 seats.

The survey was conducted after Prime minister Narendra Modi suggested to conduct both Parliament and state assembly polls simultaneously. The debate began about conducting parliament and state assembly poll simultaneously after Modi’s suggestions. Modi, while speaking with a channel last week had reiterated to have a debate over his suggestion. He had said it will save cost and time as every year, bureaucrats engaged in various state assembly polls that affects on state administrations.

According to BJP insider, cost and the time may be the issue, but the real agenda behind the idea is to create wave once again like was in 2014 and regain in power at Parliament and in maximum states.

“The public sentiment is against the Modi and BJP government over inflation, hike in petrol prices, failure to handle farmers issues and reservations to Jaat, Patel, Marathas and other communities,” said the source.

He added these are very common issues that are directly related to common man and think tank of BJP strongly feels, it will go against the party if parliament and assembly polls will be held separately waiting to complete their term.
