Youth blackmails women with nude photographs to rape her

A 32-year-old woman was raped by a student in Borivali (west) at her house when her husband was not at home. The Maharashtra Housing Board (MHB) Colony police have registered the case and arrested the accused Kevin Gomes (20).

Narrating her ordeal in chilling detail the woman told the Free Press Journal that Gomes had taken her nude photograph to blackmail her.

The woman lives in Borivali with her husband and a 10-year-old son. In November, the victim’s brother had met with an accident and Gomes had helped him by taking him to a hospital. The police said the duo – victim and Gomes – became friends since then.

“He (Gomes) had taken my cell number and started messaging me around New Year. We also talked on WhatsApp and later he video called once to propose to me. I tried to avoid him, but he was not convinced. On January 15, Gomes came to my house, when my husband and child were not at home. He forced himself on me and raped me. He has also clicked my nude photographs with his cellphone and started blackmailing me,” the victim said.

The victim had told Gomes that she is pregnant so that he may not sexually assault her, but he still continued to abuse her physically.

Gomes and victim live in the same neighbourhood, said police.

He threatened the victim of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone. Then again, on January 20, he reached her house and raped her. When the victim opposed, Gomes brutally assaulted her and pulled her hair.

“I am unable to walk properly after the incident,” said the victim, who underwent treatment at Shatabdi hospital in Kandivali (west).

The MHB Colony police took her to Shatabdi hospital where her medical test was conducted.

Gomes, who has been booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), was produced before Borivali court that has sent him to police custody.
