Uyes Inamdar rebuilds life, develops software for poor students

- JESCILIA KARAYAMPARAMBIL

Dressed in a black coat with perfectlycombed hair, a 17-year-old, is seen walking around a college auditorium in Mumbai. He is Uyes Inamdar, a Punebased young entrepreneur, who is on a mission to become a billionaire. Uyes has come a long way from Godhra to Maharashtra.

What makes him special are not just his influential contacts but also his entrepreneurial skills. He owns a company— Berry-IIT which manufactures computers, tablets and drones. "We are trying to educate illiterate people through e-learning. There are places where kids are not getting quality education and we are trying to reach out to them," he said. His company works with NGOs who hire his services to reach to interiors of Maharashtra. Inamdar, is a college student and is balancing his education and professional work. But in all aspects, he sort of enjoys his professional side more.

Inamdar’s company has employed 12 persons.“We have diploma engineers and BSC engineers working with us,” added Inamdar. He said,“Two friends joined me and now the team is like a family.” When quizzed, he reveals that he is the youngest in the team. As he is under-age, his mother is managing partner of the company.“I am the founder of the company but my mother is managing partner.”

When asked about support from parents, he continues,“I lost my father in Godhra riots. My mother raised my two sisters and me.”With two elder sisters— one studying for engineering and the other doing pharmacy, this family has found a new life in Pune. His mother Shagufta took the decision to move her children from Gujarat to Pune, to take up a job.

He was a baby when his family moved to Pune.“I have relatives in Gujarat but we rarely visit them. But we do go to Gujarat,” added Inamdar. However, the manner in which this young man carries himself is remarkable. He said that credit for this is his mother who worked with prominent people and he learned a lot from them.

Even as he aspires to become a billionaire, he hopes his mother will continue to help him.“I will continue working towards achieving my billionaire target. But as I do that, I want my mother to continue to handle major activities of my company…”
