Keanan wins earns training stint with Boca juniors

Keanan Bhobe showed good overall soccer skills throughout the third edition of the Football Championsh­ip League, conducted by The Sports Gurukul (TSG) in associatio­n with Club Atletico Boca Juniors, at the Sree Narayana Guru College of Commerce in Chembur West.

The talented 10-year-old Keanan was declared overall winner for the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award. He produced some brilliant performanc­e for Brave Bulls team in the under-12 category and caught the eye of the selectors. Keanan, a student of Ryan Internatio­nal School ICSE, Malad, has earned, an all-expenses paid training trip to the Boca Juniors Football Academy in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Over 36 more players were chosen for a one-month scholarshi­p for coaching under internatio­nal coaches in Mumbai and amongst them six more will get the opportunit­y to get partial scholarshi­p to visit Argentina. The training in Argentina will be in the month of May.

The biggest attraction was eight-year-old Jess Bhobe from Ryan Internatio­nal ICSE School, Malad, emerged as the highest goal-scorer with 26 goals from 8 matches, across all age groups.

The most valuable player of the entire tournament was 11-year-old Ishant Vora from Utpal Shanghvi school, Juhu who was selected from amongst the entire 400 participan­ts.

The Fair Play award was presented to the Brave Bulls from Boca Football School, Mumbai. List of winners:

U-8 Champions: Fiery Foxes from Boca Football School Mumbai; Best Goalkeeper: Veer Shah (Fiery Foxes); Best Player: Aarul Ghosh (Fiery Foxes); Top Scorer: Jess Bhobe (Fiery Foxes); Upcoming Star: Keyan Koya (Brave Bulls).

U-10 Champions: Fearless Sharks from TSG Football school; Best Goalkeeper: Shlok Anand (Fearless Sharks); Best Player: Devang (Fearless Sharks); Top Scorer: Krishay Arora (Crazy Crocs); Upcoming Star: Kartik Mani (Brave Bulls).

U-12 Champions: Fearless Sharks from Fatima School; Best Goalkeeper: Swayam Poojary (Fiery Foxes); Best Player: Dev Ghor (Fearless Sharks); Top Scorer: Eshan Sartape (Mighty Elephants); Upcoming Star: Kenan Bhobe (Brave Bulls).

U-14 Champions: Lion Kings from TSG Football School; Best Goalkeeper: Krish Belchada (Crazy Crocs); Best Player: Vedaant Kothari (Lion Kings); Top Scorer: Nikhil Bonulu (Roaring Tigers).

U-16 Champions: Lion Kings from TSG Football School; Best Goalkeeper: Safar Khan (Blazing Bears); Best Player: Pranav Madhyan (Lion Kings); Top Scorer: Altamash Valsantkar (Lion Kings)

Girls’ U-16 Champions: Flying Eagles from Mumbai; Best Goalkeeper: Urvashi Chaudhari (Flying Eagles); Top Scorer: Shareiva Kadam (Flying Eagles).
