Mahim dargah hosts inter-community dialogue with US delegates

Dargah Hazrat Makhdum Ali Mahimi, popularly known as Mahim Dargah, hosted an inter-community dialogue that saw delegates from the United States of America (USA). Besides the delegates, people from all faiths were present for the dialogue.

“Heads of all the communitie­s were called up to ensure that the city, and country at large, to echo similar voice that every community stands for unity and shall together fight for terrorism if it comes to that,” said Suhail Khandwani, Managing Trustee of Mahim Dargah, adding that they have tied up with the USA to tackle terrorism together and spread message of peace. Delegation from USA included two Mayors who spoke about how Mumbai is an example of kindness and compassion across the world.

“This is my first time in the city and besides from the fact that the city is physically beautiful, the diverse communitie­s coming together fur ther adds to the beauty,” said Tom Tait, Mayor of Anaheim, California.

Another Mayor from Louis Ville, Kentucky, said Mumbai stands towers above all in the country and its diverse culture will only strengthen the , “The city is discussed all across the globe and I personally love the city so much because it gives many things to the world, that includes unity in diversity in truest sense.”

All the communitie­s discussed peace and welcomed the US contingent with warmth and affection while they harbour their hopes on future for a better world.
