BATHTUB MYSTERY

WHAT AUTOPSY REPORT SAYS: "Accidental drowning" in bathtub after Sridevi ‘lost consciousness.’ THE MYSTERY: How she fell into the bathtub, lost consciousness and drowned.

CONTRIBUTORY FACTOR: Traces of liquor found in blood but report does not give the extent of intoxication. Friends say she did not take hard drinks.

CONTRADICTORY CLAIMS: Who found her in the bathroom: Boney Kapoor or the paramedics and hospital staff?

CARDIAC THEORY DEBUNKED: The post-mortem report does not mention cardiac arrest, at all.

MYSTERY OF BLOATED BODY: Her bloated body was found motionless in a bathtub full of water. A body is bloated if it has been in water for fairly long. Does not tally with claim that she was in the bathroom for 15 minutes or so.

CAN ONE DROWN IN A BATHTUB: A person can accidentally fall into bathtub -- if he/she has a blackout or a stroke; one can also have a cardiac arrest in the tub. Similarly, one can tumble into a tub if one is sitting on the edge.

QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ANSWERED: Why did Sridevi stay back? One theory is that it was for auction of her paintings. Likewise, why did Boney return to Mumbai? Again, why did he go back. Says wanted to ‘surprise’ her.

SRIDEVI NOT SEEN OUT OF ROOM: Sridevi did not stir out of hotel room for two or three days.
