Arvind Subramania­n leads race for World Bank top economist

NEW DELHI: Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramania­n is leading the race for the post of World Bank's next chief economist, and may be named as Paul Romer's successor as early as next month, a source aware of the developmen­ts said. “The World Bank may make an announceme­nt after meeting Subramania­n at the annual spring meetings of the Internatio­nal Monetary Fund and World Bank," the source said.
