Qatar Airways denies reports of Air India stake deal

NEW DELHI: Qatar Airways on Wednesday denied reports that it was in talks to bid for Air India, even as the government is on the verge of announcing the modalities for the sale of the ailing national carrier. "Qatar Airways firmly denies it is involved in any talks regarding the acquisition of Air India," it said in a statement. Media reports had suggested the airline along with another airline may bid for Air India, in a consortium.
