Sumitra Mahajan lays foundation stone for gauge conversion work of Ujjain
Western Railway has added a new chapter of development of railway infrastructure in Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Under this ambitious step, Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of Lok Sabha laid the foundation stone for the commencement of gauge conversion work of Ujjain – Fatehabad Chandrawati Ganj section. Apart from gauge work, other activities inaugurated include doubling of rail line at Gambhir Bridge, doubling of Indore – Dewas – Ujjain section, electrification between Lakshmibai Nagar – Ratlam section, development of Dr Ambedkar Nagar railway station and inaugurated two lifts at Indore station and 370 kwp Solar Plants at Dr Ambedkar Nagar station as well as dedicated to the nation two escalators & LED lightings at Indore station and Coaching complex at Dr Ambedkar Nagar station, at the functions held at Ujjain and Indore railway stations recently. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment were the chief guests of the occasion and Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Railways & Coal presided over both the functions.
