Sumitra Mahajan lays foundation stone for gauge conversion work of Ujjain

Western Railway has added a new chapter of developmen­t of railway infrastruc­ture in Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Under this ambitious step, Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of Lok Sabha laid the foundation stone for the commenceme­nt of gauge conversion work of Ujjain – Fatehabad Chandrawat­i Ganj section. Apart from gauge work, other activities inaugurate­d include doubling of rail line at Gambhir Bridge, doubling of Indore – Dewas – Ujjain section, electrific­ation between Lakshmibai Nagar – Ratlam section, developmen­t of Dr Ambedkar Nagar railway station and inaugurate­d two lifts at Indore station and 370 kwp Solar Plants at Dr Ambedkar Nagar station as well as dedicated to the nation two escalators & LED lightings at Indore station and Coaching complex at Dr Ambedkar Nagar station, at the functions held at Ujjain and Indore railway stations recently. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Thaawarcha­nd Gehlot, Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowermen­t were the chief guests of the occasion and Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Railways & Coal presided over both the functions.
