Damor strike seals win for WCG

MUMBAI: Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana dished out a solid combined display and managed to snatch a tight 1-0 win against a spirited Xavier’s Boys SC in a First Division match of the MDFA Leagues 2017-18 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel. Willingdon were unbeaten in their group and finished with 17 points from five wins and two draws. In an evenly contested match, striker Saumil Damor latched on to Gleason Rodrigues through pass and scored the crucial goal in the 29th minute, which sealed Willingdon Catholic Gym’s victory. Earlier in a Second Division play-off league match, SRS Sporting got the better Worli Sports Club 2-0 with Tanmay Puro netting both the goals.
