Prime Minister inaugurates rail service in North Bastar and ‘Ayushman Yojna’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the historic railway line and passenger train in Adivasi-dominated North Bastar (Kanker). Modi gifted the long-awaited link on the auspicious occasion of birth anniversary of architect of the constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at village Jangla (district Bijapur) via video-conferencing. The railway track links Dallhirajhara district Balod to Bhanupratapur district North Bastar. On this occasion Modi also launched the ‘Ayushman Yojna’. The line is part of the 235 kilometre rail project linking Dallhirajhara -Ravghat-Jagdalpur. PM Narendra Modi congratulated the citizens of the state while flagging-off the passenger train from Bhanupratapur-Gudum. With the inauguration of new rail line North Bastar (Kanker) is linked to Durg-Raipur directly. Modi referred to this rail link at his mammoth public meeting at village Jangla and expressed his happiness over the rapid developments. The running of passenger train is manned by allwomen crew.
