Acceptance

Columnist Ann Landers defines success as follows: “If you have a good reputation; if you are right more often than you are wrong; if your children respect you, if your grandchildren are glad to see you; if your friends can rely on you and you can count on them in times of trouble; if you can face God and say I have done my best, then you are a success. If you can accept God’s timings and not the ones fixed by you then you are a success.”

Dr. John F. Demartini writes: ‘Maximum growth occurs at the border of order and chaos. For example, when there is a war, people forget their differences, unite for a common purpose, do everything they can, to contribute towards war effort, and expect victory and not defeat as the outcome’. Such mentality cannot prevail in normal times because there is disturbance and the human mind reverts back from the higher self to the lower.

Problems are wonderful ‘transition points’. Each setback is a potential stepping stone to greatness. Just like pushing each grade in school, man has to face challenges and graduates to a higher level. Every barrier is a personal challenge to grow and with growth comes a greater sphere of responsibility and reward. Once you have been confronted with a life and death situation, trivia no longer interests you. Your perspective grows and you live at a deeper level and you move nearer to your original self.

Albert Einstein said, “I shall never believe that God plays dice with the world.” In fact, life is not a gamble. What you do today affects your tomorrow. Both good luck and bad luck are illusions. The Universe is not a game of chance. It is a tangible demonstration of ‘cause and effect’. Our actions determine our results. For example, if you have arthritis, it is the body’s way of expressing that you don’t want to bend your knees and give in to authority. When you are suffering from obesity, it means that you yield to everything including good food. You can discipline yourself and need not cart around additional adipose tissue for no wages.

For everything there is a timing fixed by God and if you do your bit to promote God’s designs, you will reach where you are destined to reach!
