The endless wait of a man to reunite with his brother, who had gone missing from their residence at Manipur for the last 40 years will finally came to an end on Tuesday night.

A 65-year-old man who had gone missing from his residence at Manipur was traced to Mumbai. Khomdram Gambhir Singh will be finally flying back to his hometown along with his family on Wednesday.

Khomdram had gone missing from his residence at Imphal since 1978. In October last year, Khomdrum was spotted by Firoz Sakir, a street photographer at Bandra. Singh was very passionate about singing since his early days and was spotted by Firoz while he was singing Bollywood songs and begging in the lanes of Bandra.

Firoz had uploaded a video of Khomdram on social media so that people could come forward to help identify the man or loosen their purse strings and make generous donations to the destitute man. The video that had gone viral was seen by an assistant professor of North East Regional Institute of Science and Technology in Arunachal Pradesh while browsing through YouTube a few days ago. He informed one of their friends Atom Samarendra about the video featuring Khomdram singing and begging on the streets of Mumbai. Samarendra informed Khomdrum’s brother Kulachandra about it. A missing complaint was registered by the Imphal police in 1978.
