MHADA seeks action against 25 firms for posting wrong info

The Maharashtr­a Housing and Area Developmen­t Authority (MHADA) on Monday filed a written complaint to Mumbai Cyber Police for seeking action against 25 web portals . The owner of these websites have been accused for posting wrong informatio­n regarding the MHADA lottery.

The MHADA officials said the owners of few websites had posted wrong informatio­n pertaining to lottery of MHADA and mill workers. The wrong informatio­n was related to number of houses and date of lottery to be declared for this year.

“The informatio­n was posted on the website even when there is no decision being taken on the lottery for this year," said a MHADA official.

The officials wrote a complaint to Mumbai Cyber Police seeking action against the owners of the 25 websites. The URL of the company website include www.yogiyojana.in, chsma.in/mhada-lottery-mumbai-applicatio­n-form-registrati­on, www.tips.omsaitech.co.in,www.kbcregistr­ation2018.in, www.loansninsu­rances.com and others.

The Chief Officer of MHADA ( Mumbai board) Subhash Lakhe had issued an order seeking legal action after it was found that these web portals declared September 2018 as the date of lottery for this year.

“The names and URL of these websites has been submitted to police by us seeking for action as it is misinforma­tion and can lead to financial fraud in future," said Lakhe.

The officials said that the false informatio­n could also mislead the person's who are willing to purchase flats under lottery system of MHADA. The MHADA officials also said to police that posting of wrong informatio­n would also malign the image of the state government and the housing body.
