P&G and Havells dominates Product of the Year Awards 2018

Procter and Gamble (P&G) dominated the Product of the Year Awards 2018 along with Havells, which is into electronic appliances. Six P&G products won in various categories and so did brand Havells in six categories.

Apart from P&G and Havells, other brands whose products were felicitate­d include Nestle, Max Bupa Health Insurance, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Acute Energizer and Nerolac. A pan India survey was conducted by Nielsen to determine the winners in each category. The night was all about innovation and attended by some legends from the industry.

The evening also saw a panel discussion ‘Innovation Must Be Disruptive’ which was moderated by Charulata Ravi Kumar, director, S P Jain DMM program and columnist. This panel discussion had names like Ambi Parameswar­an, founder of Brandbuild­ing.com; K V Sridhar, founder and CEO of Hyper Collective; Sanchita Johri, group digital marketing lead India, Johnson & Johnson; Kausalya Nandakumar, CEO of Smartshift by Mahindra and Sandip Tarkas, director of Songdew Media and CEO of Bengal Warriors.

This group discussed on how innovation and disruption are shaping up the future. They discussed about the risk involved in this process and also about the cost incurred in embracing innovation and so on. Raj Arora, CEO, Product of the Year India, said, “Product of the Year was founded 30 years ago in France and continues to be useful to marketers across the globe. Our deepening engagement with our winners, participan­ts and research partner allows us to keep sharpening the process. We hope and believe that our winners will be able to use this recognitio­n to advantage.”
