WR SERVICES HIT AS LOCO OF Rajdhani suffers technical snag

The peak hours on the Western Railways (WR) was hit as the loco of August Kranti Rajdhani Express (12953) witnessed a technical snag at Elphinston­e station on Thursday evening leading to the bunching of the suburban fast services on fast downline. The huge crowd of passengers was witnessed at Dadar station.

According to an officer of WR, Train number 12953 departed at 5.40 from Mumbai Central Railway station. The loco of the train got trouble in power supply causing to halt near Elphinston­e station at 5.50 pm for 10 minutes.

The train was brought to Platform number 5 of Dadar station where the loco of Express has been replaced.

According to a tweet by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) WR Mumbai Central which says “Due to technical failure all down local fast and slow trains running late by 10 to 15 minutes. Inconvenie­nce caused to a passenger is regretted.”

“The loco has been brought from Bandra Terminus to Dadar station. The defective loco of August Kranti Rajdhani Express was replaced with the Bandra loco. The express train was departed from Dadar at 6.30 PM. During this period, the fast services have been diverted on slow line at Mumbai Central,” he added.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the suburban services was affected due to the rail twist incident took place near Currey Road railway station.

The incident took place around 2 pm in the afternoon when the railway track twist and it delayed all the train services by 15 minutes. Later the trains were diverted on the fast line.

According to a senior official, “Usually, due to temperatur­e rise, the skirts are twisted. The trains were resumed only after setting the speed limit. However, this problem has been resolved soon.”
