Differentl­y-abled kids to be treated on par

In order to bring all the children's suffering from some health issue under one roof and helping them in improving their educationa­l and developmen­t skills, the citybased paediatric­ian started a dedicated centre “New Horizon Child Developmen­t Centre’ at the Hinduja Healthcare Surgical, Khar. The Hinduja Healthcare Surgical has taken a visionary step in holistic child care by inaugurati­ng New Horizons Child Developmen­t Centre in the Out Patient Department building of the hospital. Dr Samir Dalwai, developmen­tal paediatric­ian and founder of NHCDC said they aim to integrate the child socially and will help them in developing their educationa­l skills.

“The children will be under the care and direct observatio­n of a developmen­tal paediatric­ian. We will also take a proper care and will give them training which will help these children to grow and achieve a level of competitiv­eness and face the world,” added Dr Dalwai.

He further added the children's will be intervened by the experts from various health fraternity like occupation­al therapy, clinical and counsellin­g psychologi­sts, special educators, speech, language and communicat­ion therapists and audiologis­ts and others.

“The developmen­tal concerns like autism, learning disability, ADHD, cerebral palsy, down syndrome as well as emotional and behavioura­l issues which include those associated with adolescenc­e achieve their full potential, through scientific and holistic methods,” said Dr Dalwai.
