Cross complaint filed against builder for threatening to kill the accused

A lady Corporator’s husband from Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation has been booked by the Vitthalwadi police for demanding extortion from a builder. The police have also registered a cross complaint by the Corporator’s husband against the builder for assaulting and threatening to kill him.

Corporator Sonal Ahire’s husband Nitin Pagare has been booked by the police for demanding extortion amount of Rs.5 lakh from builder Sanjay Mhatre.

According to the complaint registered by Mhatre, on Thursday, Pagare threatened and assaulted Mhatre near Suraj Plaza building at Chinchpada at Kalyan. Mhatre had gone to inspect the under-construction site along with his sister’s son.

After an altercation, Pagare forcefully pushed Mhatre inside a car, assaulted and threatened to kill him for not paying the extortion amount of Rs 5 lakh.

Pagare in his complaint to the Vitthalwadi police has stated that he was threatened and assaulted near Sonali Construction by Bharat Mhatre, uncle of Sanjay at the behest of Sanjay.

According to S. Shirsat, Senior Police Inspector, Vitthalwadi police, “A cross complaint has been registered against Nitin Pagare and Sanjay Mhatre. The accused have an enmity with each other and both are into construction business.”
