Oh, PM doesn’t even have good clothes!

Congress social media and communication chiefs turned the tables on PM Modi claiming that he cannot even sit before Rahul Gandhi.

“You are naamdar (celebrity), I am a kaamdar (worker). What can be our match? I cannot even have good clothes. How can I sit before you,” Modi asked in an election rally in Karnataka on Tuesday, referring to Rahul’s challenge in a mega-rally in Delhi on Sunday that the PM would not be able to sit for even 15 minutes if he speaks in Parliament on Nirav Modi and the Rafale aircraft deal.

Modi skipped reference to the issues Rahul was referring to while making fun of him for throwing the challenge.

Losing no time, Divya Spandana/Ramya, who handles AICC’s social media and digital communications, was on Twitter, ridiculing Modi’s claim of not having good clothes: "@narendramodi ji so fancy! I love the Loro Piana jacket on you! Only 17,000 Euros (Rs 13.6 lakh! Very cheap. Whose credit card was used to pay for this Modiji?”

Her tweet ignited a flood of messages on social media. One wrote: PM lamented in Karnataka that he can’t even wear good clothes! We knew he thinks that the masses are foolish. He thinks they are blind too.” Another tweet reads: “Fakir jab zola utha kar jayega, ye sab le jaane ko kitne Movers & Packers lagenge?,” referring to Modi’s quote that he is a poor man and that he will walk away with just one cloth bag.

AICC communication chief Randeep Singh Surjewala also took to Twitter to taunt: “Modi ji kasme kamdaron ki khaate hai, aur dosti dagdaron (Reddyon) se nibhate hain (Modi vows in the name of workers but maintains friendship with the tainted Reddys).”

In another tweet, he described BJP as “Bhrasht (corrupt) Janardhana Party” and said: “Modi-Shah duo is walking on the ‘'Clutches of corruption.” One side is “Yeddy Gang” & the other side is the “Reddy Gang”! BJP’s list of candidates in Karnataka is a who’s who of “'dented-tainted” leaders.”
