Modi is corruption, hope BJP & RSS learnt lessons from K’taka: Rahul

-

The Congress erupted in celebrations on what its leaders described as demolition of the myth that the Modi Juggernaut is nonstoppable in the Karnataka victory, even as Congress President Rahul Gandhi bluntly called Narendra Modi as "corruption" and a "dictator," saying even the Prime Minister knows that.

He told the media on the grounds of the AICC headquarters that he was proud that the Opposition stood together in Karnataka to defeat the BJP and "we will continue to do so," vowing to trounce the BJP and Narendra Modi (in the next elections) through coordination and bringing the opposition together.

Rahul was rather very brief on Twitter: "In the end, India's voice and democratic spirit will always triumph over tyranny .... Satyamev Jayate."

Asked about his message to the Prime Minister, Rahul said: "Prime Minister should know that he is not bigger than India, not bigger than the people of India, not bigger than the Supreme Court, not bigger than Parliament and Vidhan Sabhas. Stop thinking that he is bigger than every institution in this country. He better understand that he was chosen by the people to lead this country, but also respect the institutions of this country."

He was, however, doubtful that the Prime Minister will understand it "because he has been trained throughout his life by the RSS to never respect any other institution except the RSS." He said the Prime Minister's leadership is not of democrat but dictator. And that has been understood by everyone in the country, including the BJP MPs an MLAs.

Rahul referred to four videos played up by the Congress that showed how the Prime Minister directly authorised purchase of the MLAs of Congress and Janata Dal(S) in Karnataka. This itself showed that the idea spread by him that he is fighting corruption is a "blatant lie," as he will go a step further and say: "He is corruption. He is doing everything to subvert this nation and he is doing it across the board." He did not call Modi corrupt but corruption.

He mounted his attack, both in English as well as in Hindi, asking whether people noticed on TV after the entire Karnataka exercise was over with the 2-day BJP Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa resigning instead of taking the trust vote. "The BJP legislators and the Speaker chose to get up and leave the House even before the National Anthem was over. In a way this is what we are fighting today, the attitude that you can rubbish every single institution in the country, you can disrespect anybody in the country simply because you happen to be in power."

Rahul said this is something that the BJP and the RSS does again and again as there is no institution in this country that is "worthy of respect of Prime Minister, Mr Amit Shah and RSS" as "they believe every single institution can be destroyed and stepped upon by them." He said the philosophy of RSS is to capture and control every institution in the country and "we are fighting that philosophy."

Asserting that the BJP disrespected the mandate of people of Karnataka as they also did with the mandate of people o Goa and Manipur one after another, the Congress President said he was prou to say that "they have been shown that power is not everything, in India money is not everything, in India corruption is not everything as in India will of the people is everything." He thanked the people of Karnataka as also Congress and Janata Dal(S) workers for what he described as defending much more than the election of Karnataka."

He said Karnataka explained to the people in BJP and RSS that "there is limit to arrogance, limit to how you are running this country." He hoped that BJP and RSS would learn the lesson that "will of people of this country cannot be disrespected." He said the Congress protected democracy and the voice of people in Karnataka as it would have allowed the BJP to govern if it had won the majority.

The BJP legislators and the Speaker chose to get up and leave the House even before the National Anthem was over. In a way this is what we are fighting today, the attitude that you can rubbish every single institution in the country, you can disrespect anybody in the country simply because you happen to be in power."
