Sex racket busted at Mira Road’s massage salon
The Thane (rural) police busted a high profile sex racket which was operating from an upscale residential colony under the guise of a family salon and spa in Kashimira.
Interestingly the salon owner floated online advertisements on prominent web portals to lure their potential clientele by offering massage services.
After receiving the tip-off, the Anti Human Trafficking (AHT) wing led by API Sanjay Bangar under the instructions of SP Dr. Mahesh Patil and ASP Atul Kulkarni, established contact with the salon owner on the virtue of phone numbers which had been posted on a commercial web platform.
Subsequently, a decoy customer was sent. Following confirming the authenticity of the information, Bangar raided, Glamorous Unisex Salon in the Shanti Park area of Mira Road.
The owner-cum-pimp identified as Savitri Khanna (37), a resident of Virar was caught red handed while accepting Rs 2,000 for the rendezvous, a young woman who was pushed into flesh trade by the racketeer was rescued from the salon, police said.
While a case under the various sections stringent PITA has been registered against the accused pimp, the rescued girl has been sent to a rehabilitation center. It should be noted that several Spas have mushroomed in the twin-city which under the garb of massage services are indulged in prostitution activities. Some spa owners have brazenly deployed foreign nationals by renewing their visit visa’s in an illegal manner.
