June 3: Mega block on CR and WR

The Central Railway (CR) has planned mega block on main and harbour line for carrying out maintenance work on Sunday. The maintenance work will be carried out in Matunga-Thane down slow line from 11.20 am to 4.20 pm. Due to these blocks, suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual.

These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety.

“All down slow line services leaving Matunga from 10.57 am to 4.20 pm will be diverted on down fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations halting at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations and further re-diverted to the down slow line at Mulund station. Down slow line services will not be available at Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur stations. Passengers of these stations are allowed to travel via Ghatkopar/Bhandup/Mulund stations during the block period,” said Sunil Udasi, CPRO, CR. He further stated, “All up fast line services leaving Kalyan from 10.54 am to 3.06 pm will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule. All down fast line services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 10.48 am to 3.40 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive destination 20 minutes behind schedule.” Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.53 am to 3.20 pm will remain suspended. All slow line services arriving and leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus between 11.00 am and 5.00 pm will arrive destination 10 minutes behind schedule.

Meanwhile, Western Railway will carry a jumbo block between Santacruz and Goregaon on June 3 from 10:35 am to 15:35 pm in order to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling & overhead equipment, a jumbo block

During the block period, all fast line trains will run on slow lines between Santacruz and Goregaon. Due to this, some up and down local trains will remain cancelled. Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned Station Masters. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.
