Indrani hospitalis­ed after complainin­g of chest pain

Some tests related to cardiology are pending, says Dean of JJ Hospital

Former Media Executive, Indrani Mukerjea, who is the prime accused in the alleged murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, was admitted to the Sir Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy Hospital on Friday night after she complained of chest pain.

The 46-year-old co-founder of INX media, lodged in Byculla women's jail since her arrest in 2015, was brought to the state-run medical facility at 11.30 pm with a ‘history of chest pain and discomfort’, said S D Nanandkar, Dean of JJ hospital.

The dean said Mukerjea health condition is stable now, but they will be conducting stress reports to find out if she is suffering from any heart-related ailments as she had complained of chest pain. “Her MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) test report of the neck was awaited. Her condition is not serious. Some tests related to cardiology are pending,” added Nanandakar.

Dr Sanjay Surase, medical superinten­dent said Mukerjea underwent a series of medical tests after she was admitted to the critical care unit (CCU) of the hospital. “A clinical evaluation was done. ECG (electrocar­diogram) showed mild changes (in heart rhythm), while her chest X-ray report was normal,” added Surase.

Mukerjea will be discharged in two to three days and till then, she will remain in the CCU. This is the second time in two months that Mukerjea has been admitted to the hospital.

On April 7, Mukerjea was admitted to the hospital in a "semi-conscious" condition. She subsequent­ly underwent a series of medical tests. The hospital authoritie­s had then said she had an overdose of anti-depressant­s that were not prescribed to her.

Dr Nanandkar said Indrani Mukerjea was discharged from hospital at 7.30 pm after her 2D echo and stress test reports were revealed to be normal. EARLIER INSTANCES: Indrani has been previously admitted three times for attempts to take her own life.

October 2015- was rushed to the hospital in an unconsciou­s state and it was suspected that she had drug overdose.

April 6, 2018- Overdose of anti-depressant­s and was rushed to hospital in a semi-unconsciou­s state.

June 2, 2018 – Admitted to hospital after she complained of chest pain.
