Lalu's elder son unhappy over 'being sidelined' in RJD
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad's elder son and former Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday expressed unhappiness over what he called being "ignored and sidelined" in the party.
In an early Saturday morning tweet, Tej Pratap threatened he would retire from politics and go to Dwarka like god Krishna who deserted Hastinapur handing over reigns of power to Arjun. He was quoting Mahabharat episode.
Tej Pratap ended the tweet with "Radhe, Radhe".
Tej Pratap also cautioned the party against such elements in the party, who could try to drive a wedge between the brothers.
"For RJD and its allies, main responsibility is to oust the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)-led government at the Centre in 2019. But there are some anti-social elements in the party who are keen to break the unity," he tweeted.
Tej Pratap later gave interviews to some local TV news channels and said he has conveyed his feelings to his wife, Aishwarya Rai, to whom he got married last month.
Tej Pratap regretted his brother does not respond to his telephone calls even for party works. He wanted to get one of the trusted workers of the RJD, Rajendra Prasad, included in the list of officebearers. Even state RJD president Ramchandra Purve ignored his suggestion. He had to convey his suggestion to his parents, only then his request was granted.
The eldest son of the RJD president alleged there was deep indiscipline in the party which would hamper growth of the organisation.
Last year, RJD president Lalu Prasad had officially declared Tejashwi Yadav his political heir at a meeting of the party workers here.
This was not appreciated by daughter, Misa Bharti, who had expressed her anger and left for New Delhi with her husband declaring she would not return to her parents house as she felt the two brothers have been made ministers and she was ignored.
However, she was calmed down when she was nominated as RJD candidate for Rajya Sabha seat from the state.
