Private bus overturns in UP's Mainpuri; 17 killed, 25 injured

MAINPURI (UP): At least 17 passengers, including a woman, were killed and 25 others injured when a private bus overturned after hitting a road divider early on Wednesday in Kallu Ki Madhaiya village in the Dannahar area of this district. The bus, carrying 60-70 people, was coming from Jaipur in Rajasthan and heading towards Farrukhabad. The accident happened near Tirathpur village at around 5.30 am, Mainpuri Superintendent of Police Ajay Shankar Rai told PTI over the phone. Sixteen people, including a woman, died on the spot while another person succumbed to injuries at a Saifai hospital, Rai said.
