Janak Mehta was selected as ADIF’s first-ever chairman

Asia Dyestuff Industry Federation (ADIF) which was held recently at the Pullman Shanghai Skyway Hotel, selected Janak Mehta as the first-ever chairman of ADIF for the next five years.

The event coincided with the centenary celebratio­ns of China Dyestuff Industry. From DMAI, four vice chairmen are also confirmed in addition to its executive secretary having designated as the deputy secretary general.

ADIF is an apex body and conglomera­te of dyestuff and pigment manufactur­ers of Asian countries having a combined production of about USD 20-25 billion. In the present context of an apparent shift of the power centre of the colorant manufactur­ing and consumer segments towards Asia, ADIF was conceived to represent and promote the interests of dyestuffs and colorant industry in this part of the world. Its headquarte­rs would be in Beijing and only branch office in India functionin­g from DMAI Secretaria­t.

The basic function of the federation is to promote communicat­ion and exchange informatio­n among the members, create opportunit­ies and conditions for bilateral and multi-lateral co-operation for holding seminars, exhibition­s etc for the developmen­t of the Asian colorant industry.

In his maiden address, Mehta, the newly-appointed Chairman, expressed his optimism that with the support and co-operation of all the stake holders, ADIF would be able to perform its activities to the benefits of all concerned to usher better days for the Asian Dyestuff Industry. He appealed to all the members to come together and join all their efforts in this direction.
