KISS to come with Lions Choice KISS Residential School in Maharashtra soon
Bhubaneswar-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) is going to make its entry into Maharashtra soon. The institute in the state will be known as Lions Choice KISS Residential School and it will work for the upliftment of poor underprivileged tribal children of the state. The school is most likely to start functioning from the next academic session.
The foundation stone laying ceremony took place recently at Jambha Village in Vikramgad Taluka of Palghar district, located just 100 KM from Mumbai. Palghar is primarily tribal dominated district, where the young boys and girls do not have access to good schools and are deprived of quality education. To address this challenge, KISS will lead the way by starting its branch in collaboration with Lions Mumbai Choice Foundation under the leadership of CA Sunil Patodia, District Governor, 3231, Lions Club.
The infrastructure and establishment costs will be borne by the Foundation for which an initial investment of Rs 60 crore will be made. About 5,000 underprivileged boys and girls will get a new lease of life through the school which is based on fully free and fully residential format.
On the occasion of foundation laying ceremony Dr Samanta said, “For last five years, I have been thinking and planning to open a branch of KISS for the underprivileged children in Maharashtra. Finally, my long cherished dream of empowering the underprivileged children in Maharashtra is coming true. It is only possible because of the love and concern of Shri Patodia,” he added.
