PATNA: Senior BJP leader and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, who also holds Finance, GST department portfolio in the Nitish kumar cabinet, on Wednesday alleged that the former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav was doing business in iron and steel since 2012 and was working as the handling and storage agent of Jindal Steel and power limited. While releasing the agreement documents and other legal documents in a press conference here, which he claimed bore the sign of Tejashwi and senior JSPL officials, Modi said that JSPL had on 28 September 2012 appointed Tejashwi as the handling and storage agent of JSPL's steel plant that is based in Ramgarh, Patratu, Jharkhand. “Tejashwi's company Lara and sons got VAT Registration Number TIN 10062264062 to do this particular business in which his responsibility was to take the delivery of steel that arrived through rail coaches, to keep them in the stock yard in a secured compound for which he was charging Rs 500 per ton if the steel came from road and Rs 700 per tonnes if it came by rail as handling charges”, Modi said. According to the documents that was shared by Modi, Tejashwi had also signed on agreements where it was asked whether he had the required experience of handling steel. “At the age of 22 he has become the owner of multiple companies. Why did he hid the fact that he was also working as the handling agent of JSPL? Why was this not mentioned in the election affidavit that he had filed with the EC? He earns crores from this business but he has claimed that the turnover from this business is zero”, Modi said.
