IREDA bags UK-India deal of year award

IREDA has been honored with the UK-India Deal of the Year Award by India Inc. in London on June 22 during the second UK-India Conclave. The recognitio­n is bestowed to IREDA being the first issuer of green Climate Bonds Certified and Investment Grade rated bond by a financial institutio­n. The bond was nearly two times oversubscr­ibed – the highest in the masala space in 2017 – emphasisin­g the continued importance of the UK’s capital markets for India’s rapid growth ambitions. The award was received by S K Bhargava, Director (Finance), IREDA. Issuances through Masala Bonds confirms investors’ acceptance for IREDA in the global market. Rakhee Shah, a self-taught artist, has had nearly 50 exhibition­s till now, mostly in London, and a few in Mumbai. The artist, who is currently based in Mumbai, has donated paintings to 116 Hospitals and Cancer Centres globally and 600 paintings around the world. Rakhee has also donated paintings to Forum for Autism and feels humbled. Rakhee in April participat­ed in an art exhibition held by the Indian Cancer Society (ICS) for the 67th Founder’s Day held in Mumbai. In 2016, Rakhee was invited by the Consulate of Luxembourg for an event and met the Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg and the Ambassador of Luxembourg during her visit. Rakhee alos participat­ed in the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity and auction at the prestigiou­s Royal Academy of Arts, in 2015. Before that Rakhee has participat­ed in the St. Gemma’s Hospice art exhibition cum auction held in 2014. Celebritie­s such as Sir Ian McKellen, British Prime Minister – David Cameron, Sir Ben Kingsley, actors, actresses, singers and many more has also participat­ed in this auction. Rakhee Shah also participat­ed in a charity exhibition for the West London Action for Children at Christie’s Auction House in the same year. Rakhee was invited to participat­e for an internatio­nal charity event called Oceana held at the reputed auction house, Phillips De Pury, Howick Place, London in 2014. Rakhee also creates murals with various different designs, which range from being contempora­ry to abstract in style on canvas and wood.
