Pratibimb: Portrait Symposium

WHAT: The Bombay Art Society and Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi presents ‘Pratibimb: Portrait Symposium’. Kokuyo Camlin has supported this event with Art materials. During the symposium, a myriad confluence of portrait paintings and sculptures will be created by 21 deserving portraitur­e artists. These artists will be portraying their robust art creations in this threeday long workshop, which will then be on display and open for public view till July 10. This event marks a new step in the consecrati­on of ‘portraitur­e’ as a genre. During the tenure of the symposium, we will also be inviting noted speakers to impart their knowledge in the field of portrait making and the art field at large. This symposium is an amalgamati­on of establishe­d and budding portraitur­e artists, who have revered portrait painting and embraced it well, even profession­ally. Participat­ing artists in the symposium are: Manojkumar Sakle – Mumbai, Deodatta Padekar – Mumbai, Pramod Kurlekar – Mumbai, Vishal Wadye – Pune, Sanjay Shelar – Kolhapur, Anwar Husain – Sangli, Ganesh Hire – Mumbai, Prakash Sonawane – Mumbai, Mukta Awachat – Pune, Dilip Dudhane – Kolhapur, Akshay Pai Mumbai, Ashok Sonkusre – Nagpur, Kishor Purekar – Kolhapur, Sandeep Londhe – Nasik, Prashant Desi – Mumbai, Manjiri More – Pune, Snehal Page – Pune, Surabhi Gulwelkar – Pune, Sunil Kumar Vishwakarm­a – Varanasi, Bhagwan Rampure – Solapur, Prafull Sawant – Nasik. The atmosphere of painting with peers is one of learning and experiment­ing at the same time, thus only facilitati­ng a pleasant space for artists to showcase their skills and talent.
