Animal activists rescue cobra from Kalyan village, later release it in the wild

KALYAN: One Indian cobra were rescued from Vashind village in

Shahpur on Tuesday afternoon during the heavy rains. “We managed to rescue one cobra from Gaurunana Sadan building in Shahpur village during the rains. The cobra snake is 3 feet long. A snake was found inside toilet room of Patil house. Patil wife went to toilet room of her flat and opened the door and feard when saw a snake. Later, she alerted her husband. Husband patil informed to animal activist Rohit Jadhav and Abhijit Nilam. Thereafter both animal activist rushed to spot within 20 minutes and rescued snake by 25 minutes. Later, snake released to wild. “We tried to rescue the cobra but it was swept away by the toilet room tiles. It is fortunate that we have rescue this one,” Rohit Jadhav said. Activists have also urged citizens not to harm snakes and instead call up the fire brigade or the forest helpline number 1926 to rescue the reptiles. The snake rescuers have cautioned people not to touch or try to catch snakes as they could be dangerous. Animal activists said they usually get snake emergency calls during the beginning of the monsoons when newly-hatched cobra come out in the open.
