Repo market can deepen corporate bond market: Crisil

MUMBAI: Repo platforms launched by leading bourses for tripartite repurchase of corporate bonds is expected to improve liquidity and investor appetite for these securities, which in turn will boost the corporate debt market, said a Crisil report. The domestic corporate bonds market is worth $287 billon, which is around 14 per cent of GDP only. NSE and BSE launched an electronic platform for repos (repurchase agreements) which will provide much-needed liquidity, Crisil said.
