Central Railway’s D L Brahme awarded for his exemplary work

D K Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway presented the commendation certificate and cash award to D L Brahme, Loco Pilot Mail/Nagpur for his exemplary performance in adverse situation at CSMT Mumbai recently. S P Vavre, Principal Chief Electric Engineer, N Swaminathan, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, A K Tewari, Chief Electrical Locomotive Engineer were present on the occasion. While working 12810 Howrah Mumbai Mail with Loco No. 22936 SRC, Brahme noticed heavy smoke from high tension compartment of Locomotive after passing Talni Station in Talni - Dhamangaon section of Nagpur Division. Understanding the seriousness. Brahme applied his presence of mind, controlled and stopped his train properly in least possible time by applying emergency brakes and extinguished the fire and smoke. He did this with the help of passengers and station staff considering passengers safety first and saved possible mishap which might have endangered passengers’ life and extensive damage to railway asset.
