Guinness record holder gets nails cut after 66 yrs

-

Weird people make weirdest records and get an entry into the record books. Imagine how a man will look without clipping his nails most of his life? And, if he does clip his nails, that too at a museum in the US?

Meet octogenarian Shridhar Chillal from Pune. He has gone for about 66 years without clipping a nail of his left hand, making him a Guinness World Record holder in 2016 for the ‘Longest Fingernails on a Single Hand Ever’. However, he has finally got the nails ‘done for himself ’ in the United States.

Chillal flew to the US to get his nails trimmed and immortalise them forever in a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum. His fingernail exhibit will be officially unveiled at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Times Square, according to a media report.

Chillal has not clipped the fingernails of his left hand since 1952. At the age of 82 years, he decided to immortalise his nails in the museum. He got his wish fulfilled on Wednesday.

The Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum in Times Square hosted a nail clipping ceremony where Chillal’s nails were cut.

It is estimated that the nails have a combined length of 909.6 cms. Chillal’s longest single nail is his thumbnail, measuring 197.8 cms. He had made it to the Guinness Book of World Records in 2016 for having the ‘Longest Fingernails on a Single Hand Ever’.
