5-hr mega block on CR & Harbour line today

Jumbo block on WR between Matunga Road & Mumbai Central stn

In order to carry out maintenance work on Sunday, the Central Railway(CR) has planned a five-hour mega block on the Main and Harbour lines.

Sunil Udasi, Chief PRO, CR said, “Up slow line services leaving Ghatkopar from11.20am to 4.20pm will be diverted on Up fast line between Vidyavihar and Byculla stations halting at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel (double halt) stations and further re-diverted to Up slow line at Byculla station.”

“Up slow services will not be available at Vidyavihar, Currey Road and Chinchpokli stations. Down fast/semi fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 10.16 am to 2.54 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations, in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive at their destination 20 minutes behind schedule,” added Udasi.

During the block period, passengers of these stations are permitted to travel via Ghatkopar/Kurla/Parel/Byculla stations.

Moreover, “Up fast/semifast services leaving Kalyan from 11.04am to 3.06pm will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations, in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive at their destinations 15 minutes behind schedule. All Down and Up slow services leaving/arriving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai between 11am and 6pm will arrive at their destinations10 minutes behind schedule. Up Mail/Express trains running during the block will arrive at their destinations 15 minutes late,” added Udasi.

Down Harbour line services to Panvel/Belapur/Vashi leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 10.34am to 3.39pm and Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.21am to 3.41pm will remain suspended.

However, special local trains will be run from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Kurla and on the Vashi - Panvel section during the block. Moreover, passengers are permitted to travel via trans-Harbour/Main Line from 10am to 4.30pm.

Western Railway (WR) has planned a jumbo block on Sunday to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block will be taken on Up & Down slow lines between Matunga Road and Mumbai Central from 10.35 am to 2.35pm. Due to this, some Up and Down local trains will remain cancelled. Detailed information is available with concerned stationmasters.
